Node-locked

A node-locked license is a license that is bound to a specific machine. This will be the machine that you choose to set as the main machine.

Keep in mind, this is for node-locked installations. If you have set the VINVKFXLS environment variable only floating licenses will be used, and the license manager can not be opened.

Installation is really easy, and can be done by clicking open license manager in the License tab in the node itself.

Are you in a network where there is no internet access?

Only for installation of the license internet access is necessary once. After that it can be used offline.

Still no internet access for installation? There is an option to activate the license offline as well.

Once opened, the following dialog will show up:

In here, you can perform license activation, deactivation and resetting.

Where do I find the license key?

This will be send by email to the address specified during the order. Didn't receive an email? Check the spam folder. Still no email? Create a support ticket at support.vinkvfx.com or mail to [email protected] and I'll try to help as soon as possible.

What does the key look like?

The key is a randomly generated key, it will look like this:

Automatic installation

Once you've got the key, enter it in the license key input. And be sure this is the machine you want to use MagicDefocus2 on. Then if you are sure to bind it to this machine, click activate

A message will appear with a confirmation.

Offline installation

If you have no internet connection to install the license, you can do it manually with an usb stick and another machine with an internet connection.

The steps to take are:

Create license request file. This is done within the license manager application.
Once created, don't close the window. Keep it open until you've finished activation.
Transfer the created request file to another machine that is able to use the internet.
Visit activation.vinkvfx.com. Enter your license key and upload the request file. (Be aware that the connection might take a while initially, as the server is dynamically scaled based on traffic.)
Transfer the retrieved activation file to the license server.
Enter the path to the activation file.
Activation is completed!

Deactivation

Whenever you want to transfer the licenses to another machine, be sure to deactivate it using the machine that has the license installed. This can be done using the deactivation option. You can select here which license you want to deactivate.

Resetting

If, for whatever reason, there seems to be an unrecoverable error with the installed license, you can use this option. It will remove all license files locally. After this, you can re-install the licenses using the installation license options.
